Preserving our neighborhoods and our way of life -
nundaneighbors@comcast.net
Our main objective is to
protect the rural character of our community.
It is our mission to promote safe and appropriate zoning and planning that reflects the desires of the current residents as expressed at community meetings. This includes the preparation and protection against annexation by the Village of Prairie Grove. It is the desire of the residents that the community remain rural in nature, supporting protection of a natural water supply, and without commercialization or establishment of a formal business district east of Bayview Beach Road to the Fox River.
This website was created and is maintained solely to inform residents about community issues within Nunda Township, McHenry County, Illinois (most particularly for unincorporated areas along the Fox River the Burtons Bridge) as they relate to land use. Any information collected will be used solely for that purpose and will not be shared with any other organization or group.

Current Happenings
Prairie Grove has revised their Route 176 Plan as it relates to Nunda Neighbors as follows:
Nunda Neighbors is recognized in the plan
The Village is not planning east of the ComEd power lines on Route 176
Includes a statement that our priority is to "preserve the rural character of our community"
Includes the misstatement that we "desire to be excluded from the study"
At no time has Nunda Neighbors requested to be excluded from the planning process, but rather the intention of the group has always been and maintains to be pursuing active participation. Nunda Neighbor's goals included halting the planning process until the community was involved and residents and stakeholders had voiced their opinion.
However, it is true that we wanted
Prairie Grove's vision of our neighborhood excluded from the plan
